授業内容

Needless to say, civil infrastructure building is essential to support both basic human needs in urban areas and advanced socio-economic activities in the long run. In particular, it is strongly needed to develop appropriate implemantation measures in accordance with rapid urbanization widely seen in Asian countries.
This lecture mainly covers water-related civil infrastructures building in the following fields: flood-mitigation, water-pollution control and water-demand control. Focus is made on the way how Tokyo metropolis have managed civil infrastructure building during its high economic growth period under weak governance in 1960s-70s and recycle-oriented systems creation during oil crisis in 1970s-80s.
In additon, a case study is made on total basin management models in Bangkok, Thailand.
