授業の教育目的及び方針
You will gain experience in expressing your opinions concerning socially relevant topics in written form. You will write opinion essays as well as analytical essays concerning topics covered in class. You will have the opportunity to discuss with your classmates (and me) issues such as women's rights, children's rights, war and peace, and world hunger. You will greatly expand your English vocabulary and improve your critical thinking skills.
授業内容
We will base our discussions on documentary films and selected readings. We may be able to incorporate topics that you are particularly interested in discussing (and writing about). We will work together to design this course so that it reflects your interests and meets your specific needs.
評価方法
Grades will be based on class attendance,active participation in class discussions,and several written homework assignments.
教科書
Textbooks are not required. Copies of required readings will either be available on my website (http://www.dgmoen.net) or will be provided one week in advance.
