“Being Aware of the World Problem”
Learning Current Issues through Drama
The main goal of this course is to understand and try to find the solution of current issues, using some drama techniques such as making a short skit and a role-play. Various issues including political, economical, social, cultural, and global issues, are examined, analyzed and discussed in this class. On each topic, one reading material and an original worksheet will be provided.

Procedure (on each topic)
I. Pre-reading Questions
Students discuss the background of the issue in a group, sharing information based on their individual research.
II. Vocabulary & Terms
This should be done as homework beforehand. Students are expected to use English to English dictionary only, in order to understand the meaning of words in simple English.
III. Discussion Question
In a group, students discuss the issue from various aspects, following 5~6 questions provided.
IV. Drama (Making a short skit)
Based on what they learned from the exchange of their ideas and opinions through the previous activities, students make a short skit, an original play in a group and perform it.

The main purpose of this course is to be aware of the world problem, to understand the background of the situation, and to find the solution for that. We assume there’s no connection in between the world issues and our lives, but actually we are strongly inter-connected as one who shares this earth together. Bring all your curiosity! We will explore our journey together for knowing and making the world better!
