In this class, we will study minority issues in the United State, especially focusing on the experiences of Japanese Americans. We will examine how they have shaped their identity and achieved social positionality in a complicated race relations in the United State. Students are required to actively participate in class discussions so that they can improve their English ability and open up their critical consciousness toward the world.
