Course description
This course is intended to provide students with insights in planning their career. Topics covered include: self-analysis, self-analysis by others, workplace diversity, work and life and guest speakers. Throughout the course student develop knowledge, skills and abilities that will assist them in effectively developing their future career.
Purpose of class
The course is a prerequisite course of “Internship” and therefore any MOT students who do not have work experience and will apply to internships in a consecutive fall semester should take this course in advance.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understand the overview of the field of career development
  2. To roughly understand how work is designed in a company, how people work and how people think about their work.
  3. To develop critical thinking toward future job and ways of work by active learning processes (e.g. interacting with guest speakers, group discussions, and presentations)
