Course description
Buildings must safeguard the property and the life of whom people who use them. Especially in the country like Japan facing the threat of every disaster, earthquake, typhoon, Tsunami etc., how to design the structure of architecture is extremely important.
Structural planning is the first stage of the whole process of structural design. It's no exaggeration to say that the design policy shaped in this stage will determine the final structural performance. To design a excellent building integrating space and structure, designer has to posses fertile imagination and reliable foresight based on a wide range of knowledge about load, material, structural system, low, workability, economy and so on.
In this lecture, every knowledge to consider about the structural planing is explained by showing some actual cases together.
Purpose of class
To acquire the basic knowledge about the structural performance required by buildings and fundamental skill in order to conduct structural design.
