Course content
"Proposal of spatial planning and design, and the area management to make use of local resources"
Through this exercise course work, students will learn to gaspe various problems of city and the community precisely, and to propose spatial planning and design (land use planning, environmental design) to use local resources . In addition, students will learn to propose the social system of sustainable area management and action programs based on the viewpoints such as an effective utilization of space and an environmental maintenance.
This course work is carried out in a small group and it is performed in cooperation with local actors such as the neighborhood, inhabitant organizations, NPOs, enterprises, local governments. The result of course work is publicized widely in society including local residents.
This course work is connected with practice of urban planning and architecture and is positioned as a related subject of architecture internship.

Goals and objectives
  1. Students will be able to graspe city and local conditions precisely, and will suppose various problems of planning and the design.
  2. Based on detailed investigation and analysis, students will be able to propose spatial planning and design (land use planning, environmental design) to make use of local resources.
  3. Students will be able to propose the system of sustainable area management and action programs.
  4. Being exercised in cooperation with local actors including local residents, stuedents will publicize the achievements widely for society.
