Course content
Energy Engineering is an academic discipline relating to energy which is based on chemical engineering and separation engineering. To understand energy budgeting, it is important to be able to design separation devices and chemical processes, and to make comprehensive assessments. The aim of this course will be to design a membrane separation process which is one energy-saving technology, and to assess the overall process.
Achievement target
1. To be able to design a simple chemical process using Excel.
2. To be able to design a simple membrane separation operation using Excel.
Purpose of class
Understand the basic process in chemical engineering
Goals and objectives
  1. Design of processes by using Excel or Process simulator.
  2. Evaluate the errors during the calculation
  3. Presentation about energy engineering
