Course content
The study of dynamic behavior of soil is required to evaluate structures on ground during earthquake. This lecture provides an introduction to nolinear behavior of soil under cyclic loading conditions. Dependncy of deformation characteristics upon shear strain, representation of stress-strain relations in cyclic loading and liquefaction are mainly studied in this lecture.
Purpose of class
Students understand the theory of the soil dynamics engineering.
Goals and objectives
  1. Learning dynamic behavior of soil
  2. Learning representation of stress-strain relations in cyclic loading
  3. Learing liquefaction phenomenon of sand layers during earthquake
Language
