Course content
This course is about learning how are Japanese towns and Japanese community design, Machizukuri. The course is consisted by lectures, joining actual Machidukuri sites and discussions. After fundamental understanding for Machidukuri, the students propose Machizukuri projects in the actual site and discuss each other. This is active learning style.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this class is Understanding of Japanese towns and community design, Machizukuri. Machizukuri means traditional community, social activities, local economy, townscape and ecology, for example. The theory and methods of Machizukuri should be based on such factors.
