Course content
Together with the sophistication of the manufacturing industry, materials which not only act as structures, but which provide sophisticated functions are being demanded. With respect to the functionalization of materials at the molecular level, surface processing employing methods of materials chemistry occupy an important position, and further advances are anticipated in the future.
At the laboratory of the instructor in charge of this course, research and development will be conducted in the areas of electrochemistry and surface science which are important areas in materials chemistry, as well as in the interdisciplinary areas of bioinorganic chemistry and bioorganic chemistry which were not included within former materials chemistry research. The aim of this course is to cultivate materials researchers through the formation of a feedback loop at the individual student level which will enable research results released domestically and abroad to be applied back into further research.
