Advanced Micro Actuator

koike yoshikazu
Course content
Together with advances in microfabrication technology, micro actuators have been proposed to realize mechanical movements in areas which cannot be touched by the human hand. The realization of such micro actuators is being called for in a broad range of fields including medicine. The aim of this course will be to discuss the principles and applications for micro actuators which have been proposed so far, and to have students acquire the knowledge to produce actuators based on new principles. In particular, the course will focus on actuators employing piezoelectric effect.
