Biomaterials Science and Engineering / Exercise 1
Biomaterials engineering research is a interdisciplinary field to develop or study materials/interfaces in contact with biological
systems. This research course focuses on self-assembly materials by biofunctional chemicals and sensing/catalyzing biopolymer.
Students will learn methodology of the field and achieve skills of these methods in their experiment.
- To understand biological functions at the molecular level and. To acquire a methodology to research using biological functional
science.
- To plan and execute experiments for study of materials by using biological function science.
- To discuss the results of experiments, and then make findings to advance the stage of research.
Students will individually select the research subjects and then draft and execute experimental plans. Research results will
be reported at the academic conference after presentation and discussion in laboratory meeting. Finally they will write the
master's thesis and make an oral presentation.
Evaluation method and criteria
Laboratory activities will be evaluated from following respects:
Understandings of research theme(20%)
Experiment and report(40%)
Discussion of results and feed-backed planning (20%)
Presentations of research (20%)
Textbooks and reference materials
Textbooks, data collections and research papers will be distributed in accordance with the research theme.
To study "Organic Reaction" or have the equivalent knowledge .
