Course content
Human Centered Design(HCD)/User Centered Design(UCD) is an approach to interactive systems development that aims to make systems usable and useful by focusing on the users, their needs and requirements, and by applying human factors/ergonomics, and usability knowledge and techniques. This approach enhances effectiveness and efficiency, improves user experience, human well-being, user satisfaction, accessibility and sustainability; and counteracts possible adverse effects of use on human health, safety and performance. This course encourages students to learn the process and methods through some recent global case studies.
Purpose of class
This course encourages students to learn the HCD process and HCD methods.
Goals and objectives
  1. Explain the background and needs of human centered design.
  2. Explain the important key words such as user experience and usability.
  3. Explain the important HCD methods and techniques.
  4. Plan human centered design project and can choose appropriate HCD methods.
