Course description
Our society is supported with an energy consumption of the huge amount. It is not enough to use the energy effectively by promotion of the efficiency in each system to maintain the present global environment, life and make the civilization developmental continuously. It need to understand thermodynamics and deal with an environmental issue and energy problems. In the first half, this course introduces environmental issues, energy problems and countermeasures for them. In the second half, his course introduces heat transfer and thermodynamics. It also enhances "the communication ability" and "the thinking power" through group discussion.
Purpose of class
This course helps students to understand the nature of environmental issues and acquire the knowledge to resolve them.
Goals and objectives
  1. understand energy resources and the current state of the energy consumption,
  2. understand traditional energy system and future effort,
  3. understand nuclear electric power generation and its social problem,
  4. solve heat transfer problems about several energy systems,
Language
Japanese(English accepted)
