Design Methodology
When we design machines, we have to consider cost, function, strength and safe. Students learn what mechanical engineers should
think and image. Students also learn ways to design gear trains, breaks and clutches.
The subject of the lecture is that students understand mechanisms and roles of machines and can design them.
- to understand about Safety design method, Fail-safe design and Fool proof design as design theory and explain the outline
- to be able to calculate stresses of simple mechanical structure using under Strength of Materials and design the mechanical
structure
- To be able to explain functions and features of the gears and calculate the strength of the gears.
- to be able to explain functions, features and mechanisms of power transmission elements such as brake and clutch, and to be
able to can calculate these machine element
- to be able to explain functions, mechanisms and features of the spring, and can calculate the spring
