Course description
This lecture is the introduction to fluid mechanics field. First, the basic nature of the fluid will be outlined, and then, the phenomena in flow, the motion of fluid, and the theory of forces acting on the fluid will be discussed.
Purpose of class
Fluid dynamics is the important basic learning which is related to not only mechanical engineering field but also any field dealing with fluids. The purpose of the class is to understand the basic nature of the fluid and the basic equations, and to get interested in the phenomenon of flows.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understand the concept of fluids, and to explain the physical nature
  2. To understand pressure, buoyancy, and relative equilibrium in connection with the hydrostatic fluid, and to be able to solve the fundamental problems associated with them
  3. To understand the derivation of one-dimensional continuity equation, the energy equation and the equation of motion, and to solve the fundamental problems associated with them.
Language
