Course description
This course introduces the communication technology to transmit multimedia data such as video or voice streaming in the network and the Information compression technology. Moreover, this course will refer to actual multimedia system examples and future technologies.
Purpose of class
The aim of this course is to help students acquire an understanding of transmission method of the multimedia communication such as protocol for real-time streaming or Quality of Service Technology. Moreover, the aim of this course is to help students acquire an understanding of information compression technology such as JPEG or MPEG.
Goals and objectives
  1. At the end of the course, participants are expected to understand the protocol for real-time streaming and QoS technology.
  2. At the end of the course, participants are expected to calculate entropy encoding/Quantization/DCT and explain one.
  3. At the end of the course, participants are expected to explain the element technology for transmitting multimedia data over a network.
