Course description
Based on fundamental knowledge on communication engineering, students work on projects assigned by the professor. Students are supposed to join the discussion in the laboratory, to work on the assigned projects, and to write and present his or her graduation thesis.
Purpose of class
To acquire the ability to apply the fundamental knowledge that students have learned for the first three grades.
Goals and objectives
  1. Acquire the ability to find out where the problems exist and to set the goal of his or her project.
  2. Acquire the ability to find how to solve the problems of his or her project.

グラフ理論という、いくつかの点とそれらを結ぶ辺からなる図形の構造を研究しています。たとえば、路線図において、駅を『点』、経路を『辺』とみなすと、グラフとよばれる図形は路線図の抽象化です。これはさまざまな数理科学や工学の問題 に応用され、コンピュータサイエンスにおける基礎理論のひとつでもあります。また、いかに効率よくモノを詰め込むかという問題を扱ったり、数学の教材開発をしています。
