    地震災害を予防，軽減するための要素技術の開発を行なっている．下記に，現在取り組んでいる研究テーマを記す．
    ・豊洲キャンパスにおける高密度地震観測とその応用（観測記録の解析による構造物の劣化・損傷の評価技術の構築，構造物の動的挙動のシミュレーション技術の構築など）
    ・大宮キャンパスにおける地中鉛直アレー観測（地盤情報と地震動特性の関連性の追及など）
    ・常時微動による高速道路盛土の耐震性評価（常時微動による簡易な盛土材のS波速度推定技術を構築し，耐震性評価へと結びつける研究）
    ・小学生を対象とした効果的な地震防災授業方法の開発（より効果の高い授業方法の開発を行なう）
