This course is designed to focus on learning the basis of German. The textbook contains short dialogue, partner-practice,
grammatical exercise, listening and so on. In the class these will be combined and social or cultural topics of the German-speaking
countries occasionally referred.
The aim of this course is to learn the basis of German by practicing four skills.
- To learn rules of the pronunciation and the basic grammar.
- To be able to do self-introduction and short dialogues as the first communicative step.
- To gain informations about German-speaking countries and understand different cultures.

Evaluation method and criteria
Usual performance score (class attendance and participation, review quizzes) 30%, final examination 70%. To pass, students
must earn at least 60 points out of 100.

*German-Japanese dictionary will be introduced in the class.
