Course description
As a first step to acquire the communication skills in English that is required for science and engineering experts, in this class of the first grade, you will acquire the four skills of English, especially "read" and "listen", on the basis of the English learning of up to high school. You will read and listen to a variety of basic texts,so that you will understand various ways of English expression, accumulate the stock of English expression, cultivate the ability of listening, and acquire a basic English proficiency to learn English for science and technology.
This class takes advantage of e-learning for the learning outside the class so that you can contact with a number of English expression. During the period of this class, you need to finish the desired lessons in the "Super English". Hand in the print out of the portfolio to show the coverage of your progress. The contents of the e-learning will be on quizes.
Take the TOEIC test held at the time of final examination. Your TOEIC score, which will be converted with 500 points as a perfect score and 250 as zero score, will be included in the evaluation.

Notes:
• Based on the highest TOEIC score of the test at the biginning of new academic year or the test that you took before in the University, you will be assigned to either English Basic Skills I or English Advanced Skills I. Be sure to take the TOEIC test at the beginning of new academic year.
· Students with the best score not less than criteria score should take English Advanced Skills I and not this class.
·Students with the best score not more than criteria score should take English Remedial Course I in parallel with this class. If you did not pass the English Remedial Course I, you can not obtain the unit of this lecture.
· If you pass English Remedial Course I but fail English Basic Skills I, there is no need to re-take the English Remedial Course I when you re-take the English Basic Skills I.
