Exercise in Space and Architecture Design 32
In this class, students are expected to design an elementary school and an apartment housing. The first half is the design
of an elementary school. The elementary school is one of the most important regional public facility, and it is also the educational
facility where a child begins communal living. With considering both of the regional characteristics and the learning environment,
you have to design an elementary school appropriate for the site.
The second half is the design of an apartment housing. Our society required “quantity” in the past, but now “quality” is required. In today's social situation, you have to investigate how apartment housing should be changed and propose a new richness.
Both exercise sites are real. You have to visit the site, check the surrounding environment, and reflect it in your plan.
