Introduces transportation systems, planning, travel demand analysis, and cost-benefit analysis. Role of transportation modes, systems and services. Description of technological characteristics and their impacts on capacity, service quality and indirect regional effects. Topics include economic theories of the transportation operator, consumer, and market, demand models, discrete choice analysis, cost-benefit analysis. Applications to transportation systems include congestion pricing, technological change, public and private transportation finance, and project evaluation; covering urban passenger transportation.
