Course content
Coding/decoding schemes, error control schemes, modulation/demodulation schemes, multiple access schemes, antenna and propagation, anti-fading schemes, OFDM transmission schemes for mobile communication systems are discussed. In addition, advanced mobile communication systems (PDC, W-CDMA, HSPA, LTE, LTE-Advanced and 5G), wireless broadband systems (WiMAX), wireless LAN (802.11) and the other ubiquitous systems are introduced.
Purpose of class
The main purpose of this class is to understand advanced mobile communication systems including basic technologies and integrated system and services. Also, MATLAB simulation is employed as practice to analyze the performance of mobile communication systems to acquire skills for this fields.
Goals and objectives
  1. The students who succeeded in this course will be able to understand and explain about basic mobile communications technologies for instance, coding/decoding, modulation/demodulation and so on.
  2. They also will be able to understand and explain about the advanced technologies for mobile communication systems for instance, multiple access, antena and propagation antifading technologies and so on.
  3. They also will be able to understand and explain about the advanced mobile communication services and future wireless systems.
