Course content
In chiral drugs, biological activities between the enantiomers often significantly differ . Thus, in modern organic chemistry, knowledges of stereochemistry are very important. In this class, I would like to explain in detail on organic stereochemistry.
Purpose of class
Understanding on basic keywords for organic stereochemistry, various chiral compounds and the depiction of the configurations, importance of chiral switch in chiral medical drug
Goals and objectives
  1. Understanding on basic keywords for organic stereochemistry (enantiomer, diastereomer, optically active, meso, conformations, configurations etc).
  2. Understanding on depiction of configurations in enantiomers and diastereomers
  3. Understanding on stereoselective synthesis and resolution method of enantiomers and diastereomers
  4. Understanding on conformation of acyclic and cyclic compounds
