1 Physical Metallurgy/ Exercise 1
For proper materials design in various engineering fields, understanding of physical properties of materials is indispensible.
In this course, students will learn basic aspects of materials properties through their daily training on materials processing
and the characterization with the guidance of their supervisors. Project based training is the key essence of this course.
- Ability to understand the purpose of research and to plan research
- Ability to organize research results and consider it from material science view point
- Presentation skill to present the research contents at academic conference
Experimentally and theoretically study various functions of materials (metal, ceramics, composite materials, woody materials)
from the physical viewpoint.
Evaluation method and criteria
Presentation on the research topics using power point files 50%
Interview 50%
Textbooks and reference materials
Copies of related scientific papers will be handed out in the class
Take courses in fracture mechanics and material mechanics
