Course description
Following on from Engineering English I course, this course aims to develop the students’ ability to understand and use vocabulary and expressions commonly used in engineering fields. Students will learn how to express quantities, shapes, measurements, movements, functions, cause and effect relationship etc., with a focus on important expressions. They will also practice reading with contents related to their majors to enhance their skills for reading engineering papers and texts in English. In addition, the course aims to develop students’ skills for expressing engineering-related contents logically and clearly, and to lead them to the ability to write an engineering paper in English. The course will focus on practices and exercises, and require review assignments and quizzes.
Purpose of class
The aim of this course is to develop the students’ ability to understand and use basic vocabulary and expressions commonly used in engineering fields.
