Course description
  This class is a lecture subject contained Active-Learning to learn integrally across three fields of Architectural Design, Urban & Regional Planning, and Environmental Systems Engineering. This course deals with the knowledge, methods, and technology to think about regional problems, to find out challenges, and to present solutions, targeting the nearest facilities, housing, towns, districts, and also the national land and the global environment, based on integrally understanding human activities such as buildings and cities as a system.
  Students should recognize this course as a summarization and advance of each specialized subject that you had acquired by the end of the 2nd year; besides, you will find it as an opportunity to practice “Workshop on Architecture and Environmental Systems A or B” at the 2nd semester in the 3rd year and “Undergraduate Thesis Research 1 and 2” in the 4th year.
 It corresponds to the subject of the examination for architects: 10th “etc.”
Purpose of class
  The aim of this course is to help students understanding and to acquire the methodology of ideation, systems approach, modeling, fieldwork, and generic skills based on the vocational consciousness. Then, you will learn also knowledge, methods, and technology to practice the collaboration with various persons who have different values, knowledge, and skills, and to solve the specific regional challenges in a way of thinking outside of box.
Goals and objectives
  1. Explain about own course (desired occupation and skills) in relation to social and regional problems and consciousness on social contribution.
  2. Understand and objectively describe the case of knowledge, methods, and technologies to solve the regional problems.
  3. Explain clearly to third parties about own solutions for the regional problems.

Evaluation method and criteria
Your overall grade will be based on the following ratio:
- Average score for the eight short-tests in Lectures: 40%,
- Score for the two short-reports in Discussions: 30%.
- The four Worksheets: 20%.
- Attendance: 10%, note that five absences is “D.”
To pass, students must earn at least 60 points out of 100 by submitting all the above-mentioned performances on time, and making it less than 4 times absent.
