Course description
Since the opening of Meiji, Japan has introduced western modern academics. However, it can hardly be said that it has accepted ideas and philosophy that underpins academic knowledge at the root of Western science. Therefore, the social system of Japan is becoming a so-called "octopus traps".
In order to break down the current situation, it is necessary to rethink what the "Western" Japan has accepted once again. Therefore, in this lecture, we will give a general lecture on representative philosophy, thought, and religion of the West from ancient times to the present day with the aim of knowing the scaffolding of our thought of today.
