Course description

This class is for learning how to proceed synthesis of medicine and related compounds based on organic chemistry I and II. Students learn stereo-selective synthesis, retro-synthetic method, and multi-step synthesis in this class.

Purpose of class

Students learn basic synthetic method for medicine based on retro-sythesis,multi-step synthetic meths.

Goals and objectives

Understanding of synthetic plan to synthesize medicinal chemicals and natural products.
Understanding of a retro-synthetic method that is important in pharmaceutical synthesis.
To master multi-step synthetic scheme about synthesis of compounds.

Evaluation method and criteria

Require total score of 60% and above within small exam 20%, intermediate exam 35％, and terminal exam 45％. If you do not attend more than two-thirds of the number of classes, you can not take the interim / final exams.
