Course description
This class is covered with biochemistry, molecular cell biology, physiology, and biology fields. You can learn basic experimental techniques. We use a variety of samples from the DNA to the whole body. All experiments are matched with the keywords of aging and oxidation. Finally, you can learn how to making a report of your experimental data.
Purpose of class
It aims to learn basic experimental technique.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understanding how to analysis the basic components and functions of tissues.
  2. To understanding the mechanism of biological reaction.
  3. To understanding how to use machines and materials of biosicence fields.
Language
Japanese
Class schedule
We practice biochemistry, molecular cell biology, physiology and biology fields. The specific contents are described below.

Measurement of antioxidant substance: determination of alpha-tocopherol concentration in mice liver.
Judgement of cell death: Trypan blue dye exclusion assay and hoechst staining in cultured cells.
Isolation of DNA: measurement of isolated DNA concntration and purity in mice spleen.
Analysis of lipid peroxidation products: Measurement of TBARS values in mice.
Blood pressure and pulse: changes in the blood pressure and pulse before and after small exercise.
Analysis of amylase: Check your amylase in test tubes.
Anatomy of squid: anatomy and sketch of squid.
Measurement of protein volume in mice organ: make protein standard and measurement of unknown protein concentration samples.
Measurement of lipidperoxidation in before and after hyperoxia in mice liver homogenetes.
