Theory and Exercise of Material Mechanics

kabayama kenji
Course description
In a building design, it is most important to secure the safety from external forces (such as gravity, wind or earthquake). Structural members such as columns, beams, and so on in the building should resist to the several stresses caused by the external forces. In this class, the relationship of stress and strain, resistance mechanism against stress, properties of section will be characterized in the structural members.
Purpose of class
Basic and essential theories of the material mechanics should be mastered in order to ensure the structural safety of buildings.
Goals and objectives
