Course description
A variety of lifestyles such as “dual life” or “second life”, are emerging in modern society and new relations between urban areas and rural areas are being strengthened these days. Young generations are beginning to live in the city center and are developing relation with neighborhood communities. Cases of renovating abandoned houses are increasing and this kind of movement is effected by development of new lifestyle. Moreover immigrations are making new communities which are connected to the world.
The aim of this course is to learn a variety of emerging community models and learn how we cope with these new movement and how we manage these new community models which strongly influences the way of city planning.
Purpose of class
The purpose of this course is to learn various cases of urban design and regional management, and consider new way of urban design and regional management without adhering to the existing way of city planning.
Students will develop vision of modern city and rural areas facing the age of mature society and develop creativity and conceptional abilities to design urban spaces, and take a holistic view of city planning which is needed to collaborate with different fields of research and role of urban designer with architecture background.
