Course content
Overseas experience is indispensable for becoming a researcher or engineer who can play an active role in international society.
In this course, students independently plan technical training activities related to their research themes at overseas companies, universities, or public research institutes, and then submit their plans to the teacher of the course.
Provided proposed plans are evaluated, students implement the overseas technical training according to their plans.
SIT provides support for costs that meet the requirements described in a separate set of rules.
After returning to Japan, students compile and submit a final report and present their activities to the teacher and other students.
Purpose of class
You can study abroad in a laboratory of your choice to broaden your knowledge in your field of study. You can experience life abroad and learn to appreciate other cultures. You can become familiar with history of the host country and enhance your knowledge on world economy and its social impact.
Goals and objectives
  1. The students will deepen their expertise in the research field through the internship at host institution.
  2. The student will gain a meta-national experience.
  3. The students will be able to discuss with foreign engineers and researchers on their specific fields in English.

1. Introduction to the course: The procedure of the internship is explained by the teacher in charge of the course. No 90minutes
2. Students plan their technical training at Japanese companies, universities or research institutes. Look for a host institution. 300minutes
3. Compilation and application of an overseas technical training proposal. Prepare training proposal. 300minutes
4. Preparation for the internship
Students should make arrangements for the internship by themselves.

5. Implementation of the internship: the first week
The student should send a weekly report to the teacher.

Evaluation method and criteria
The teacher evaluates your technical training plan, weekly reports, final report, and final presentation.
Students need at least 60% of the full score to pass this course.
