3 Composite Materials
The discussion about the different type of composites, such as fiber-reinforced, particulate-reinforced and dispersion-reinforced,
is performed. This course introduces performance of composite materials, understanding the rule of mixture, strength and fracture
behavior for structural application. Manufacturing and fabrication processing of polymer matrix-, metal matrix- and ceramic
matrix- composites and their characterization.
The aim of this course is to help students acquire the basic concepts and principles of composite materials. It also enhances
the development of students’ skill in design of composite materials.
- The goal of this course is to understand mechanical and physical properties of composite materials.
- Understanding of design of polymer matrix-, metal matrix- and ceramic matrix- composites and their characterization.
- Understanding of fabrication processing of composite materials.
