3 Theory of Elasticity and Plasticity
When the force is removed after applying force to the material, the property that the material returns to its original shape
is called elasticity, and the property that the deformed state remains without returning is called plasticity. In this course
it will be lectured how to analyze elastic deformation and plastic deformation of homogeneous materials typified by metal
materials analytically.
The aim of this course is to help students acquire understandings for basic knowledge on elasto-plastic properties of materials
(generalized Hooke's law, equation of compatibility, equation of equilibrium, stress function, yield condition, deviatoric
stress / strain etc.) necessary to describe the elasto-plastic state acting on the material .
- At the end of the course, participants are expected to understand the definitions and meanings of multi-axial stress and strain
- At the end of the course, participants are expected to understand the generalized Hooke's low.
- At the end of the course, participants are expected to get basics knowledge to understand plastic mechanics
- At the end of the course, participants are expected to analyze a plastic processing using elementary elucidation
