Course description
This course studies electric and magnetic fields.
You need to correctly understand the technology using electromagnetic phenomena in electrical engineering. As the first course, in Electromagnetism 1, static electric field is studied. The basic laws, Coulomb's law and Gauss's law are studied.
Purpose of class
Electromagnetim is one of the basic study as same as the physics which you have studied from the high school. Since this course is a foundamental of the electric machine and electric energy conversion technique, the following topic should be learned.

To understand the basic laws: Coulomb law, Gauss law.
To understand what is the field.
Goals and objectives
  1. Electric field and Static electric potential are studied. The simple static electric field can be calculated.
  2. To understand Coulomb law and Gauss law. We can apply these laws to the phenomena in the real world.
  3. The charactersitics of the conductor and capacitor can be studied. The electric field around the conductor can be calculated.
  4. The calculation by vectors can be used. The easy equations using "gradient", "divergence" and "rotation" can be solved.
  5. The electric field by the electric charges can be calculated and also the force on the charge in the field can be calculated.
