Course description
This course covers methodologies for transportation planning, which typically are travel behavior models for travel demand forecasting, user benefit analysis for project evaluation.
Purpose of class
To teach an understanding of methodologies for transportation planning: How it works and how to think about analyzing and designing transportation systems.
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand individual choice model which is estimating probability of transport mode choice.
  2. Uderstand user equilibrium model which is estimating assigned traffic volume.
  3. Understand some traffic survey data and travel forecasting model for transportation planning.
