Course description
Underground space is one of the spaces that human beings can develop and use as a large frontier space on the earth and many underground facilities are constructed. "Underground Facility Engineering" involves the history and current state of development and use of various underground facilities using the underground space, learning the fundamental engineering knowledge on the underground environment, and the construction and use of underground facilities guidelines, as well as techniques related to construction, disaster prevention and the environment of underground facilities including the latest information.
Purpose of class
Learning including the latest information such as the history and current state of development and use of various underground facilities using the underground space, guidelines concerning the construction and use of underground facilities, technology related to construction of underground facilities, disaster prevention and the environment.
Goals and objectives
  1. Understand environmental problems in the underground, and can evaluate and analyze specific environmental problems.
  2. Understand the history of development and use for underground facilities, and can evaluate and analyze usage forms.
  3. Understand and design the construction technology related to survey, design, construction and so on for construction of underground facility (mainly tunnel), and can evaluate and analyze characteristics of each method.
  4. Understand, analyze and design technology related to disaster prevention and environment in underground facilities (mainly in underground shopping centers).
