Course description
How lives are developed is explained. Various stresses that life faces and the DNA damage it causes are explained. In addition, birth of species, the deaths of life, the deaths of cells, and the life sciences to overcome them are explained.

Purpose of class
First, you learn how vertebrates, such as humans, form and grow from fertilized eggs, following the process.
You learn not only the whole body development but also the development of complex organs.
Life is under stress at various levels at the individual and cellular levels. You learn about DNA damage caused by stress and learn DNA repair.
You also learn the birth and evolution of life after the birth of the earth along the time axis.
You learn about the world of life, ecosystems, that spread on the earth.
Finally, you learn about the relationship between human diseases and genes and the latest medical technologies to overcome them.

Evaluation method and criteria
Grades are evaluated based on the results of 40% for the middle exam, 40% for the final exam and 20% for the mini test. A total score of 60% or more means passed. The exam covers printed documents, additional documents, lecture notes and oral comments. You could get 80% in the exam, if you fully understand the content of the lecture.

Textbooks is not used.
Lecture materials should be downloaded from the appropriate class item on Scomb, printed in advance, and attended.
Please bring a device that can access Scomb for each lecture because quizzes conducted in each class use the Scomb system.
