Course description

In this course we learn the essence of philosophical and ethical thoughts, on which engineering ethics, bioethics and technological ethics are based, reading the text which famous philosophers wrote.

Purpose of class

By thinking about the essence of oneself, human beings, our society or our world, we learn to understand them more profoundly and judge for oneself what is good or bad, that is, what we should do or mustn't do it.

Evaluation method and criteria

Your final grade will be calculated according to the following process:
Small examination(6～8points) at the end of every class. The total of points of all classes will be 100 points.
Passing grade is more than 60 points.
Attendance more than two-thirds is compulsory. The submission of your answer to the small examination is regarded as your attendance.

Prerequisites

Prepare a notebook computer which can be connected to Internet.
