Many of the social goals of the postwar period have already been achieved, but on the other hand, various problems surrounding
architecture have arisen. The maturation of society, in other words, the declining birthrate and aging population, is progressing
worldwide. Due to the lack of financial resources caused by the decrease in tax revenue and due to the increase in the number
of vacant houses, there are many local communities that are reaching Genkai situation. Globalization on a global scale has
made convenience everywhere in the world, but on the other hand, the homogenization of local housing and dwelling cultures
are on the verge of disappearing. Furthermore, the population of non-regular, illegal settlements in mega cities is expected
to double in the next decade. This lecture will reconsider the framework and areas of architectural planning and design in
light of these various situations. We will refer to how to solve the problems surrounding architecture sustainably while referring
the various relationships between people and architecture in the case of the world. The purpose of this class is to explore
new architecture and housing and dwelling that should be present and in the future.
In this class, we will sort out and understand the various problems surrounding architecture in modern society, and understand
how they relate to architecture.
After that, we will learn the methods required for modern and future architecture from the cases of the world, and be able to think about how to deal with individual issues in an architectural planning and design.
