Course content
The course will focus on the problems with architecture and cities today.
Students will conduct wide-ranging investigation and research relating to the social significance underlying architectural design, and particularly envision an ideal format for architecture and urban spaces from the point of view of users, and will apply the knowledge into actual architectural designs.
Major themes in design exercises will include location and architectural spaces, harmony with historical landscape, relationship of human scale and urban spaces, programming and architecture, among others. Students will not only solve assigned issues, but will be required to observe problematic points, and to make specific proposals for new solutions including new programs. As well, they will also be expected to improve their presentation skills so that their opinions are easy to understand.
Purpose of class
As architectural designers of the future, emphasis will be placed on their ability to consider architectural design from a broad-ranging perspective and to be able to present their ideas clearly.
Goals and objectives
  1. To acquire the ability to design and expressed through programs and practical on-site concrete necessary "process of thinking and practice" as a designer.
  2. To wear the ability of the design with regard to "decide", can be explained with a convincing.
