Course content
Survey foreign papers concerning forming processes, surface modification technology and coating processes extensively and study about the method of approach, summarization and presentation.
Purpose of class
This course provides an introduction to materials processing science. Specific processes, such as melt-processing of metals, surface finishing, deposition technologies (PVD, CVD, thermal spray and plating), powder metallurgy and deformation processing are considered.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understand casting, powder metallurgy and molding methods of composite material.
  2. To understand deformation processing and its application.
  3. To understand vacuum science, surface modification engineering and coating technology.
