Course content
This course focuses on the relationship between the human and the mechanical systems. The mechanical system should have a safety and useful functionality for the human. This course includes the below topics to understand the design method of the human machine system. Topics is (1) the characteristics of the perception and the recognition, (2) design of driver assist systems, (3) the characteristics of the control action, (4) HMI (Human Machine Interface) for the mechanical system.
Purpose of class
This course learn a relationship between a human and a mechanical systems using an actual example.
Goals and objectives
  1. Students will be able to understand characteristics of a perception and a recognition.
  2. Students will be able to understand how to design driver assist systems.
  3. Students will be able to understand characteristics of human's control action.
  4. Students will be able to understand a HMI (Human Machine Interface) for a mechanical system.

Evaluation method:
Presentation: 60%, Report: 40%

Criteria:
The score of 60% means that if students will be able to investigate and consider a journal papers on Human Machine System including four objectives.
