Course content
The Internet has become the main medium of communication in our modern society and it is part of the everyday life of billions of users. It is therefore essential that engineers of the future society have a strong understanding of computer networking and Internet technology. Besides, the Internet is continuously evolving, and it is important that engineers can adapt their knowledge to the Future Internet.
This class will present Future Internet and advanced Networking architectures. The main founding principles of the Internet (Architecture, Naming, Routing) will be presented before introducing new Internet architecture such as Information-Centric Networking architectures (NDN, etc.). Other novel networking Architecture will be presented such as Cyber-physical systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), as well as 5G for mobile network or other Vehicular Networking architecture, or the network softwarization paradigm with Software-Defined Networking.
The advanced knowledge on Computer Networking combined with the strong background in engineering of our students will nurture engineers for the Future Society.
Purpose of class
This class aims at providing a detailed knowledge of the Internet architecture and present to Future Internet technologies

  4. The students will survey up to date technology through the reading of scientific papers.

Evaluation method and criteria
Final exam, Essay on Future Internet and scientific paper presentation and discussion.
Final exam will contribute 25% of your grade.
Students need at least 60% of the full score to pass this course.
