Course description
In our product system design area (especially the field related to molds), to learn for the current situation, task, countermeasure, future technology etc. in manufacturing through experiment and consideration.
・ Understanding of various characteristics of metal materials and plastic processing experiments(tensile test, hardening test, blanking test such as press forming)
Purpose of class
To be able to to solve the problems of each phenomenon for the problems on the various properties of metal materials and plastic working experiments.
Goals and objectives
  1. to be able to explain the structure of various molds.
  2. to be able to explain typical material tests (tensile test / hardness test).
  3. to be able to explain the press forming and blanking test.

Evaluation method and criteria
Exercise(65%)、Report and poster(35%).
The level at which 60% or more passes is
to draw the graph of stress and strain curves in the tensile test and estimate the mechanical characteristics,
to understand the meaning of hardness test and
to explain the characteristics of various press processing.
Textbooks and reference materials
Instruct during class as appropriate. A textbook on materials mechanics is mandatory.
Prerequisites
It is desirable to take material mechanics.
