Course description
This short laboratory course aims to provide understanding for foundation and basic techniques for the procedure of molecular biology for the students who are taking teacher training course. This course is held at summer school.
Purpose of class
Through this short laboratory course you might understand foundation and basic techniques of molecular biology.

  2. Understanding how to quantitative analysis biological phenomena.
  3. Understanding a way of purification and detection of biological molecules.

Basic training of molecular biology You learn four big biomolecules in the cell. 200minutes
Extraction and purification of genome DNA from the cell You learn DNA. 200minutes
PCR for specific region of genome DNA and detection You learn PCR for specific region of genome DNA and agarose electrophoresis 200minutes
Extraction and purification of the protein from the bacterial cell Study about bacterial cell and ball mil, how it works.
Purification of the protein with affinity chromatography and gel filtration Study about affinity chromatography and gel filtration
Kinetic assay of the protein (enzyme) of which purified. Study about enzymatic reactons, including MIchaelis-Menten mechanism.
