Course content
Lectures in this class will be mainly based on Japan Intellectual Property Laws. “Management of Intellectual Property” examines the key strategic decisions faced by engineers and scientists at each stage of research and development. The course aims to develop your ability to understand intangible property rights and effectively manage the fruit from your laboratory work. It focuses mainly on the patent right, but includes some examples of other intellectual property rights. 
This class will be held as real time online lecture with Zoom.
Purpose of class
To obtain knowledge to manage intellectual property in research and development.
Goals and objectives
  1. To understand the basic of Intellectual property rights
  2. To master the skills for prior art search
  3. To master the skills for writing invention disclosure
  4. To obtain the ability to use above skills and knowledge with the help from intellectual property right professionals

Applicable The lecturer of this class have working experiences at R&D division of major chemical company for 20 years. Also the lecturer is appointed as a technical advisor in The Intellectual Property High Court and cotribute in patent litigation cases where their expertise is necessary to clarify issues of the case or to facilitate progress of the proceedings.
